Outreach and Special Events Committee
This committee develops and promotes activities which facilitate communication and outreach between SAAB and both the student body and the general public. The Outreach and Special Events Committee works directly with the Nagle CHAMPS Life Skills community outreach program. This committee promotes events such as THON, The Kevin Dare Memorial Fund, Lift for Life, and Coaches vs. Cancer.
Communications and Information Dissemination Committee
Responsible for managing the SAAB bulletin boards and creating the PawPrint newsletter, this committee is the link between athletes and upcoming events in SAAB. Members of this committee work directly with our growing social media accounts to provide real-time updates of athletic and service events. Monthly, members of this committee create a calendar and packet of information to place on each of the boards. This committee also acts as SAAB’s connection to the Collegian, Varsity S Club, and The Penn State Alumni Association.
Awards Banquet Committee
Members of this committee create the annual Student Athlete Awards Banquet held in the Bryce Jordan Center every spring semester. From catering to guest speakers, this committee covers every aspect of the banquet, and divides into sub-committees to properly allocate tasks.
Student Athlete Welfare Committee
The student-athlete welfare committee works closely with the Sport Psychologist and Diversity Committee, serving as an advocate and acting as a conduit addressing issues that enhance the overall quality of life and personal development of all student-athletes. This might include helping student-athletes balance multiple demands and stress effectively, helping freshmen make the transition to university life more smoothly, or issues pertaining to inclusion and a welcoming, supportive environment.
